In 3...2...1...
"When facism comes it will be wrapped in a flag and carrying a cross..."
First of all, how many Democrats have said this? And secondly, while Ron Paul is entitled to his opinion and I'm fine with the fact that he doesn't want to pander to the evangelical vote...that's still a very stupid statement to make when you're running for the Republican Party nomination.
I'm convinced that he's pretty much giving up on a GOP nomination and looking at a Libertarian Party bid.

If Paul runs as an independent it will be nothing but the Perot effect that gave Bill Clinton the plurality over GHB in 92' and Sen. Bob Dole in 96'...
He knows that, and if he were all about Libertarian ideals, he wouldn't be giving the Dems the top spot...
I wonder aloud, if papa Soros isn't getting money and troops into this grass roots 'insurgency' of the Paulinistas....
Now granted, Republicans need to be believable to Libertarian ideals.. and I think two candidates Rep. Hunter and Rep. Tancredo are the closest to that message... of lower taxes, smaller govt....
one of the two needs to bow out, so the two can combine forces....
The PAULISTINIANS have become a real and potent force in the Republican Party. As more elect to join their local Republican Committees, as they are now doing by the millions nationwide, we could witness a strong course change in Republican politics away from the "unitary executive" Neocon construct that has left us without a Constitution and provided us with an Imperial President.
Regardless of Ron Paul's final tally in the Primaries, we are going to see a positive effect on the Republican Party made by these, mostly young, highly energetic, PAULISTINIANS for years to come.
Those who continue to spout the nonsense about mysterious outside funding sources, or those who spread that crap about an independent run, are just trying to smear Ron Paul. These Nixonian tactics are now widely recognized by the educated public for the futile and desperate acts that they are.
Americans want their country back and they are supporting Republican, Ron Paul's message of a return of our government to its Constitutional limits. Freedom is very popular. No more undeclared wars is also very popular. No more IRS is WILDLY popular!
Read the Republican Creed and then examine who has the voting record as a Republican that matches the tenets of our Creed. ONLY ten term Congressman, Ron Paul has the proven record of defending our Liberty here at home and abroad.
