Mitt Romney Wins in Michigan GOP Primary

With many projecting a possible Romney loss in his native state of Michigan, and ultimately the final blow to his campaign, Mitt Romney pulled out a very solid win in the Michigan primary yesterday.

Romney won with 39% of the vote, John McCain finished second with 30%, Mike Huckabee came in a distant third with 16%.

This was, in many minds, Romney's "must win" state to continue his campaign. It also further muddles up the GOP primary picture, as McCain and Huckabee were beginning to separate from the pack.

Hillary Clinton was the only major Dem contender on the Michigan Democratic Primary ballot...and still only pulled 56%. However, the primary was meaningless as the Democratic Party stripped Michigan of all of it's delegates to the Dem National Convention as punishment for moving up the date of the primary.

This is verbatim from most of the wire reports. A few conscientious writers also mentioned Rudy and Old Fred Thompson, but Ron Paul, who finished in front of Old Fred and Rudy, was universally ignored by the wire services and big media outlets.

There is something seriously corrupt about a media culture that ignores candidates if they are not in the top three, or if they are not the media darling of the moment, such as McCain.

Ron Paul has been the only candidate to thoughtfully and thoroughly discuss real problems and even propose some tangible solutions. All of the other candidates are so processed and homogenized by their media handlers, it is like looking at generic cheese spreads; all bland, all tasteless.

I wish all of the candidates would offer real ideas like Ron Paul has done. America deserves a truthful discussion of real ideas and real solutions. For example, what would the other candidates do to restore America's manufacturing base? what targeted cuts would they make to reduce our bloated federal government?

I know you're a Ron Paul fanatic, so I'm probably beating my head against a wall on this...but I gotta respond.

To say Ron Paul is the only candidate to "thoughtfully and thoroughly discuss real problems and even propose some tangible solutions" (as you put it) is a fallacy.

Fred Thompson has been universally hailed for being both thick on substance policy-wise, and universally panned for NOT being a "baby-kissing candidate".

You say that Ron Paul has put forth tangible solutions...I did not know that the instant elimination of the IRS on January 21st, 2009 is tangible.

I hate paying taxes as much as the next guy, but if you want to see tangible solutions, Ron Paul is not providing them right now...but guys like Fred Thompson are.
