Just watched the clip from today's episode of "The View", and for once it was not a clip of Rosie saying something ignorant...this time it was Elizabeth Hasselbeck saying something smart, and Rosie was unable to find any kind of rhetoric to save herself...and got stuck in some sort of mental la-la land with nothing to say.
Hasselbeck took Rosie to task over Rosie's twisting of Hasselbeck's words about the Iraq War, and who the enemy really is. While Hasselbeck puts together a string of good points, what is Rosie's best response? Simply put, she gets whiny and attempts to call out Hasselbeck for "not being a good friend."
The backbreaker line from Hasselbeck was when she said, "Asking a rhetorical question that you never answer yourself: That is cowardly."
See the video at The News Buckit. Who also noticed that it was indeed Rosie who went ad hominem first.

Rosie, I think had a very good point. Why do we Americans think that only our lives are important when it comes to wars? Elizabeth stands behind her beliefs no matter about the facts and she could have answered Rosie's question with a yes or no.I felt Elizabeth did a "jab" when she mentioned Donald Trump whom , I think is a bully. Her jab was convert and passive agressive!
Why do most liberal Americans forget that people die in wars, even civilians. And in an "Us against Them" situation, I'm more worried about "Us" deaths than I am about "Them".
Also, most of the civilians killed during this war have NOT been killed by American troops, so that point is moot.
And Rosie was consistently attacking Hasselbeck in a very obvious attempt to avoid answering any question Hasselbeck threw at her. Rosie stands by her own beliefs...with nothing to back it up.
Elizabeth jabs at Rosie and skirts the answers cause she does not want to have to answer truthfully because deep down she knows that Rosie is right about everything concerning our boob of a president and the war he took this country to and how he is responsible for the deaths of all the soldiers and the innocent civilians. If you chose to be a Republican, that's your choice but to stand by and defend what is going on is disgusting. How any American woman can defend that mini hitler we have as a president is just baffling to me. Shame on you Elizabeth.
I can't believe anyone can take anything
Elizabeth says seriously- she is a mouthpiece for the radical right wing. She has never said anything positive about any Democrat or anything negative about a Republican. At least Rosie tries to judge people on what they say and do- not just spout the party line. Rosie is an easy target for the Republican party and I'm sick of their low blows about her weight and sexual ppreferences. Republicans used to believe in less government, but now want to control every aspect of our lives.
IT IS TOO BAD THAT THE LADIES ON THE VIEW HAVE BEEN SLOTTED INTO POSITIONS. JUST LIKE ELIZABETH SAID, YOU TELL ME TO GO ON MY FEELINGS NOT ON THE FACTS!!
EVERYTHING IN TELEVISION THESE DAYS HAS SOME SORT OF STAGING TO IT. THE AMERICAN PEOPLE ARE NOT ALL FOR WAR, BUT WE DO SUPPORT THOSE WHO GO AND STAND FOR FREEDOM. MY FATHER WAS DRAFTED AS A YOUNG MAN. THESE SOLDIERS TODAY ARE GOING WILLINGLY. NO DRAFTS. THEY FIGHT FOR FREEDOM OF ONE PLANET, NOT UNITED STATES OR IRAQ. IT IS ABOUT ONE PEOPLE NO MATTER WHERE THEY LIVE HAVING THE FREEDOM WE HAVE. I BELIEVE ROSIE AND ELIZABETH BOTH HAVE GREAT OPINIONS. IT IS JUST TOO BAD THAT PEOPLE CANNOT RESPECT OTHERS "VIEWS" INSTEAD OF ALWAYS GETTING INTO HEATED DISCUSSIONS.
Rosie is a loud-mouthed bully. Everyone is entitled to their beliefs about the war. The issue I have with Rosie is that she's so combative. You can argue or disagree with someone without being rude. Rosie's tactic is to corner her opponent, ask a question, during the response interject additional commentary so the respondent must answer more crap in addition to the original question. She doesn't listen. Classic smoke screen. I'll be soooooooo glad when she leaves so I can watch The View again!
Bye,Bye,Rosie
Rosie is a coward ..... i don't acre if she's a lesbian, a democrat,or any other label she wants to be known as .... she thinks she is speaking for all Americans .... I agreed with the bombing or Iraq but i do believe the troops should be out by now .... but it has nothing to do with fat mouth Rosie saying so ..... i haven't watched the view since she came on and won
t watch until she's gone
It's about time Elizabeth stands up to Rosie. It has been a long time coming. Rosie is very insulting to Elizabeth. Apparently that is okey? Just the other day, Rosie said Elizabeth could not hold two thoughts! As a long time view watcher,I am glad to see Rosie leave the show. As the viewer, she causes me stress! Bring Meredith who added class to the show.
What an insult to the courageous, selfless people of our armed forces and the very leaders of this our great country. Rosie was out of line and outrageous in her comments. She should take the time to think before insulting those responsible for the freedoms we so enjoy. Regardless of personal views concerning this war, we all must unite in supporting our government's best attempts at securing our liberty. By looking beyond our own immediate gratification this country is taking the high road in response to the dilemmas of fellow human beings. We should be proud of the fact that we are not selfishly withholding our abaundance of wealth and freedoms, but are trying to make this world equally as free and safe.
To our troops, to their families, to our leaders I say thank you for your sacrifices. Know that many Americans respect and appreciate the difficult tasks you must face each day. You are in our thoughts and in our most earnest prayers.

I don't know if it's just me but Elisabeth just never says anthing that's insightful or profound in my opinion. It's great that she stands behind her conservative beliefs, but it's like listening to a schoolgirl who follows the crowds chants, only to try and take credit as her own for the obvious. I don't always agree with Rosie, but at least she makes me think of things in a way I hadn't considered previously. Good for you, Rosie. You may not always have the full picture either, but at least you're original occasionally.
Vroni Revere:
You poor, ignorant soul. Did anyone (including Hasselbeck) say or even imply that only American lives are important in wars? Nooooo....only in your own mind (think about the implications of that). And as for your formerly-Tom Cuise-heterosexual-worshipping-Rosie-babe-idol...uh, do you think there's a little bit of hypocrisy or denial there??
And, whaddya think about Rosie as a bully equal to or exceeding The Donald??!!?? Let's get real.
Final observation: Why is it that all the leftie loonie comments always include major misspellings and grammatical errors (not to mention huge holes in logic and history)? I guess it must be the public screwling. If you'd like to read some books to help you out in life (yeah, those things with the pages), give me a shout.

Sorry for the slow response to moderate, I had internet issues last night.
For those who say Elizabeth (is that with an "s" or a "z", I've seen it both ways) Hasselbeck never says anything profound, it's because her statements are usually factual and verifiable. I guess because it can be proven, it's not "a new thought" to some people.
As for Rosie, she's never had an original thought in her life. All this leftist conspiracy junk she spews out every day has already been said by someone that most of society has already dismissed as a "wacko", but when Rosie says it, we're suddenly supposed to believe it?
Joy Behar needs to go, too...all she did was egg it on, then tried to act like a peacemaker.
One more thing, I've deleted a few comments that were nothing but homosexual slurs.
You may not like Rosie (I know I certainly don't), but can we please keep the discussion decent, respectful, and germane to the discussion?
Thanks.
I find it very interesting that comments are made about Ms. O'Donnell and her "baseless" opinions when that seems to be what go us into this whole Iraq Maelstrom to begin with. WMDs anyone???
For the record, I rarely agree with Rosie's opinions but until the repressive right completely eradicates our rights to those as well, she's still entitled to them.
My opinion is that, and always will be, that “Iraq War” was motivated by good, old fashioned greed. Evidence? Record profits in oil sales, billions of unaccounted for dollars wasted in Iraq, no real plan to recreate a governing body in Iraq but the oil fields and transport lines are pretty well protected.
Yes, I am an unintelligent left wing idiot who takes pride in my right to question the legitimacy of anyone who uses the deaths of the poor to promote the bank accounts of the wealth.
The poor that I am referring to is our own military, the vast majority of whom come from lower to lower middle class American families. (Just in case I am being too vague.) It sickens me to see such resources strewn to the wind when they could have been better utilized seeking out the true aggressors.
There will be no end to our involvement in Iraq. It is now civil war and we are the cause of it. What do we do now? Commit more people and choose side? Who do you vote for Sunni or Shiite? Do you know the difference? Please spare me your rhetoric! It’s no better than hers!
Spell and grammar check, please.
You tell those who disagree with Rosie to "spare you the rhetoric", when you spew quite a bit of it yourself. Kinda like when Rosie asks "rhetorical" questions that she refuses to answer herself.
The radical right and the extremist left have both made attempts to stifle free speech...they've just done it in different ways.
Nonetheless, you spew the rhetoric of "greed caused this war, all we wanted was oil!" However, you also cannot back that up with anything except with the fact that the Middle East is sitting on an ocean of oil.
But let's go to the facts...
There WAS a growing Al-Qaeda movement in Iraq. Saddam didn't like Osama Bin Laden, but there still were growing numbers of terrorist cells in Iraq, that's been proven.
So no WMD's were found, but we did end the genocide of the Kurds. Don't you lefties love to stop genocides? I mean, there are quite a few liberals who want us to use military force in Darfur and such.
I guess it depends on which continent celebrities are adopting babies from, right?
Of course, most people blame Bush...but I personally a lot of the problems with this war have come from the people who are supposed to provide him with proper information. They didn't, but Bush only had their advice to go on. He put his trust in these people, they failed, and it's caused the struggle.
The actual "Iraq War" has been won. It's the post-war occupation that has been the struggle.
The difference between Sunni and Shiite, I know the difference. I've known that since my World History class in 9th Grade.
Grammar and spell check, please? What's that supposed to mean, anyway? I'm not your elementary school teacher, if you or anyone else can't spell or use proper grammar...that's their fault.
