Looks like Fred is ready for a fight.
However, what is probably the most important part of this article comes in the last paragraph.
"Talking to a likely Thompson staffer ahead of the speech, I said I hoped he'd get in the race and shake things up. The staffer said, coyly, 'I think you'll get your wish.' I didn't push for a date and time. But this guy's ready to go for it."
Take that for what it is...but to me, that sounds like an affirmation that Fred Thompson WILL run for the GOP presidential nomination.
h/t to my fellow "Fred Thompsonite" Paul Cave for linking me to this article from The Free Republic.

US President Tim Kalemkarian, US Senate Tim Kalemkarian, US House Tim Kalemkarian: best major candidate.
I get 5 of these comments every day...I'm allowing this one to post for two reasons.
1) This is one of the reasons why I moderate comments.
2) To show that anybody can call themselves a "major candidate". I researched this guy, his election history is as follows...
- Write-in candidate, US Senate: Lost (only received 2 votes)
- Candidate for Mayor of Moorpark, CA: Lost (received 2.5% of the vote)
- School Board - Oak Park School District: actually won a seat with 26.9%
- Candidate for Moorpark City Council: Lost (0.8% of the vote)
- 2000 Write-in candidate for President: Lost (0 votes).
Yeah, he's the "best major candidate". A real threat to those running.
