27th District - Issues With Tate's Finance Reports

I was reading the finance report for the past quarter for Mark Tate, who is running against Jill Holtzman Vogel. Usually, I don't go too in-depth into the finance reports unless I have a reason to. Apparently, according to VCAP, Tate is under investigation for some inaccuracies in his report.

The most notable inaccuracy was where Tate reported 0 loans taken out, but has received $155,000.00 in loan revenue, which equals nearly 47% of his total reported revenues.

Who knows if this is simply bad math, or more...but it's worth watching. However, as of right now, there is no indication that there was any criminal activity and may simply have been a poorly-filed report.

Tate's last campaign report was good by comparison. You and the rest of the bloggers need to really look at the last couple of years and you will see there is a deliberate attempt to fraud in my opinion. Also, the SBE does not automatically turn anything over to the Commonwealth Atty's office. A person would have to do that on their own. At least that is my understanding. For years people have known and talked about how Mark has gotten away with this egregious behavior. If anything is being investigated, it had to have happened before the latest reports if there is a criminal investigation. These things would take months to check out. Automatically everyone blames the Vogel campaign. From what I know she has stayed completely out of it so no one could throw stones. Mark does not pay his bills either. I can only say after studying both records of Tate and Vogel, I hope to heck they finally nail this imposer. I do not have an accounting background either, and it just took some time and I still shake my head how he was allowed to get away with it--or maybe he won't. I sure as heck do not want someone like him representing me in the state senate or the Republican Party.

Personally, I'm a bit of a late-comer to Mark Tate and whatever shenanigans he may or may not be a part of, as I've only been living near the border of this district and the 26th for about 1 1/2 years.

On-the-issues, I side a little more with Vogel than I do with Tate, but I really don't have a horse in this race.

However, there are a few inconsistences with Tate's report that are interesting, to say the least...so I am going to keep an eye on this as it develops.

Phil,

I appreciate you doing some research on your own. Because we had so many requests to provide the details since it can be challenging to weed through years of reports, we have done so.
