How come none of them really "stick up" for Harry Reid? Honestly, Reid is supposed to be one of the top Democrats in all of American politics. He's the Senate Majority Leader. The man who was going to march right up to George W. Bush and the GOP and stick it to 'em. He was going to say "damn the minority" right alongside of Nancy Pelosi and eliminate the conservative cause.
Now he's under serious attack from conservatives for his grandstanding tactics and weasel-like demeanor. How come you don't see Dems coming to his defense?
Oh, wait, I forgot...this is probably why. Even the Dems think he's a disappointment.

The answer is simple Phil, if you understand civics.
Reid doesn't really need us to defend him: he's a Senator from Nevada and is popular enough to be certain of re-election. He was elected Senate Majority Leader by his fellow DEemocratic Senators: only they can remove him.
The founding fathers made Senators powerful and independent of day to day questions of popular opinion.
Meanwhile, every day we edge a little closer to a Presidential election in which the Republican will be forced to carry the burden of George W. Bush while nobody will bother to ask the Democrat about Harry Reid.
The average American can't name the leaders of either party in Congress Phil, that's why we don't have to defend Harry Reid. No one will forget--or forgive--George W. Bush.

I understand every bit of what you're saying. I was just poking fun at Reid because, well, it's fun for me :)

Unfortunately. This is true. However, It also shows the power of the negative. George Bush isn't running, ho0wever those running in his stead must define themselves for the thinking voter. What the non-thinking voter will go for depends upon the MSM and the conservative talk meisters.
It's still to early to tell.
It is unfortunate that more people don't know who, beyond the President, is running this nation.
I did like Ried's recent jab at the Republican candidates...along the lines of..."All I know for afact is that Guliani has been married more times than Romney's been hunting."
It seems not so much a jab at the Republican candidates as a smack across what the media is telling us is important. Either way, I thought it was funny.
I think that was a jab at both, but it does illustrate how poorly the media illustrates the important aspects of the candidates.
It's an amazing piece of writing in favor of all the web visitors; they will take benefit from it I am sure.
